Tristan Thompson Calls Ex Khloé Kardashian His Best Friend in 40th Birthday Tribute

Tristan Thompson is spreading the love.

In honor of Khloé Kardashian’s 40th birthday, the NBA player shared a sweet tribute to his ex, with whom he shares daughter True, 6, and Tatum, 22 months.

“Happy birthday Khloé,” Tristan began his June 27 Instagram Story, over an image of the two with their children. He followed with a picture of Khloé and True, writing, “You are the best mom.”

“You are my best friend,” he continued in the following slide, before adding a photo of Khloé with his youngest brother Amari, under which he wrote, “And the most incredible person I’ve ever met.”

Tristan and Khloé were on and off for about six years before they called it quits in 2021, the same year it was revealed Tristan fathered a child, 2-year-old son Theo Thompson, with another woman named Maralee Nichols. But despite the multiple cheating scandals that plagued their relationship, Khloé has expressed her desire to keep things amicable with her ex.

And as she looks ahead after ringing in another year, the Good American founder is feeling nothing but gratitude.

“Deeply Grateful For Every Moment,” Khloé captioned her own birthday post, which included a reel celebrating with her loved ones. “I love you! I am so excited and thankful for this fresh decade and all it has in store!!!”

And in addition to her well wishes from Tristan, the Kardashians star was showered in loving messages—perhaps none sweeter than that from her mom Kris Jenner.

“I am not sure what I did to deserve you, but I thank God every single day for the beautiful blessing of being your mommy,” the Kardashian matriarch wrote in her birthday message to Khloé. “You are one of the most wonderful loves of my life, and I cherish each and every glorious memory we have ever made.”

And of the important role her third oldest plays in their family, Kris continued, “You are the most amazing daughter and have been the greatest gift in life, but watching you as a mommy has been so remarkable for me. You are everyone’s favorite auntie and literally have dedicated and devoted yourself to your babies and to all of your nieces and nephews and are everyone’s hero.”
